Fits and replaces glass accessories on motor vehicles.

• Removes old and damaged parts and cleans surrounding areas on vehicles.
• Fits and installs accessories such as sun roofs.
• Removes damaged glass, trims strips and rubber seals from window frames and mountings on motor vehicles.
• Positions new windscreens and glass windows on frames and attaches and seals them.

• Works indoors, predominantly in workshops but also likely to work outside on occasion.
• Indoor work spaces will usually be adequately heated and ventilated. Outdoors work is likely to be carried out typically in fine weather.
• Worksites may be noisy and dirty.
• Employees may utilise a variety of personal protective equipment including eye and ear protection.

• The physical demand is typically medium.
• Standing is constantly required for most of the tasks undertaken, often on concrete floors.
• Walking about the worksite is frequently required to move equipment and get parts and tools.
• Sitting is not required.
• Stretching up and across is frequently required to test, remove or install components.
• Squatting, crouching or kneeling is required occasionally.
• Twisting of the body or neck is occasionally required.
• Lifting, carrying and holding in place a range of parts, tools and equipment is frequently required.
• Repetitive movements are occasionally required especially for the use of hands and arms for screwing, holding and tightening, but power tools are often used.
• Driving may be required but is not a significant feature of the job.
• Employees use a range of general hand and power tools and equipment.
• Bending is frequently required.
• Mental skills necessary include technical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• NZ Register Level 2 or 3 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 4). At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

• There are limited opportunities for flexibility of movement.
