Rents cars to individuals and businesses.

Determines customers' requirements and advises on product range, price, and availability; completes required paperwork and enters rental agreement into the computer system; processes payment; provides any necessary information to the customer; monitors fleet; inspects vehicles before they leave the facility and on return; arranges for any required cleaning and repair work.

• Works indoors in an office environment. May work outdoors when escorting clients to car parks or inspecting vehicles.
• Work occurs at counters and employees deal directly with the public.
• Frequently work in adequately heated and ventilated spaces, that are warm and inviting to customers. If required to work outdoors employees are likely to work in all weather conditions.

• Sedentary to light work demand levels.
• Staff constantly stand or sit at desks or benches when dealing with customers.
• Staff occasionally walk about the work area.
• Lifting and carrying is not typically a significant component of the job.
• Stretching and twisting movements are not typically a significant component of the job.
• Bending, squatting or crouching movements are not a significant component of the job.
• Frequent to constant repetitive hand and finger movements are necessary for operating electronic tills, cash-handling and when operating a computer.
• Use of office hand-held objects such as pens and calculators will be occasional.
• Mental skills necessary include writing, numerical, analysis, sales and customer service skills.

An NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education (ANZSCO Skill Level 5).

For some occupations a short period of on-the-job training may be required in addition to or instead of the formal qualification. In some instances no formal qualification or on-the-job training may be required.
