Co-ordinates services to develop new or existing property and buildings.

• Arranges finance and organises contractors to perform alterations or development of property; ensures property development meets user requirements; may sell or lease the property on completion of the development.

• Typically works indoors from a development office but sometimes works from the site.

• Sedentary to light physical demand levels.
• Occasionally sits when dealing with paperwork associated with the development e.g. contracts and plans.
• Frequently meets with potential buyers to inspect properties and consider marketing and construction issues.
• Stands and walks frequently about the office and when on site at properties.
• Stretching, twisting and climbing are not significant components of the job.
• Squatting, crouching or bending will be unnecessary in most situations.
• Lifting and carrying is not typically required.
• Repetitive movements will be occasionally required to perform computer related tasks.
• Frequently travels to meet potential sellers and buyers at properties up for sale.
• Driving is frequently required.
• Use of hand-held objects/equipment includes pens, telephones, pagers, calculators, cameras and computers, which are likely to be in frequent use. Use of a laptop computer may be required for mobility.
• Mental skills necessary include presentation, selling, communication, negotiation, organisational and planning skills. Knowledge of the relevant district plan and the construction industry is typically necessary.

• A New Zealand Register Level 4 qualification or at least three years of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required. For entry-level positions on-the-job training is sufficient.
