Patrols assigned areas and issues parking infringement notices to owners of vehicles that are illegally parked.

Checks parked cars within an allotted area to establish if a car has been parked illegally or for too long; issues infringement notices and records details of time and location; calls tow trucks to move illegally parked vehicles; reports faulty meters; collects money from parking meters/machines; reports and organises the removal of abandoned vehicles; may give evidence in court if someone appeals the infringement notice.

• Constantly works outdoors when inspecting parked vehicles in designated areas.
• Occasionally works indoors in office environments when completing administrative tasks.
• When working outdoors is likely to work in all weather conditions.
• Indoor work areas are adequately heated, ventilated, cleaned and well maintained.

• Light physical demand levels.
• Occasionally sits at a computer workstation.
• Standing or walking is required constantly to inspect parked vehicles and meters.
• Stretching and twisting may be required occasionally but is not a significant component of the job.
• Bending, squatting or crouching will be frequent when marking tyres, checking meters, cars warrants and other details to issue tickets.
• Repetitive hand and finger movements are frequently to constantly required when recording details into a hand held computer or writing out tickets.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of concentration, planning, organisation, writing and communication/listening.

There are opportunities for flexibility of movement but they are limited.
