Provides Intense Pulsed Light treatment uses a broad spectrum of visible light wavelengths applied to the skin to remove tattoos, remove hair, provide skin rejuvenation and repair vascular lesions, and treat rosacea.

Meet and greet customers; establish patient’s goals; provide advice; schedule laser therapy session; apply topical anaesthetic as required; operate laser to remove tattoos and hair as required; follow hygiene and safety procedures relating to laser use; provide advice regarding follow-up care.

Employees work inside clinics. Work spaces are generally adequately heated and ventilated with good standards of general cleanliness and hygiene.

• Sedentary.
• Employees constantly stand or sit alongside patients, while carrying out tattoo or hair removal tasks.
• Stretching and reaching is not a significant component of this job.
• Twisting of the body or neck is not a significant component of this job.
• There will be occasional contact with a range of chemical substances and solutions, as well as physical contact with people who may have infectious conditions. Latex gloves may be worn.
• Lifting, pulling or carrying is not a significant component of the job.
• Bending is not a significant component of the job.
• Repetitive movements using hands are frequently required to perform laser treatment.
• Driving is unlikely to be required unless a mobile service is offered.
• Use of hand-held IPL equipment will be frequent to constant.
• Mental skills necessary include communication, diagnostic, evaluation and decision-making, sales and technical skills.

A New Zealand Register Level 2 or 3 qualification is required. Previous experience performing treatments with laser technology is ideal.
