This occupational group covers hospitality workers not elsewhere classified. Occupations in this group include: cloakroom attendant and uniform room attendant.

Greets customers and determines their requirements; checks in garments and other items and issues tracking ticket; answers enquiries on events and may distribute programmes and information.

• Employees work inside usually in theatres, nightclubs, restaurants or similar venues.
• Work spaces are generally adequately heated and ventilated.
• Work spaces will generally be clean and well-maintained.

• Sedentary to light physical demand.
• Employees frequently stand or move about foyer/reception areas.
• Employees may sit for part of the time, especially for cloakroom attendants.
• Stretching or reaching is light and occasional.
• Squatting or crouching is light and occasional.
• Contact with skin irritants or water is not a significant component of the job.
• Twisting of the body or neck is not a significant component of the job.
• Lifting, pulling or carrying involves frequent light carrying and lifting of items such as patrons’ cloaks and baggage.
• Bending is occasionally required when lifting items, in the case of cloakroom attendants.
• Repetitive movements are necessary on a frequent to constant basis.
• Use of hand-held objects/equipment will be occasional to frequent and will include using ticket issuing machines.
• Mental activities necessary include interpersonal and organisational skills.

An NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education (ANZSCO Skill Level 5).

For some occupations a short period of on-the-job training may be required in addition to or instead of the formal qualification. In some instances no formal qualification or on-the-job training may be required.
