Develops maintenance planning strategies, and schedules, co-ordinates and monitors the maintenance of all plant equipment.

• Works indoors in offices and/or factories and/or workshops. May also work outdoors depending on the nature of the plant equipment.
• Wears appropriate protective clothing and footwear, if necessary, for the specific environment.
• Workplaces may be noisy and dirty.

• Light to medium physical demand levels.
• Standing and walking is frequently required when co-ordinating and monitoring the maintenance of plant equipment.
• Sitting is frequently required in an office and at a computer workstation, when preparing maintenance schedules and writing reports.
• Stretching and reaching across may be required when monitoring maintenance work, but is unlikely to be a significant component of this job.
• Bending, squatting, crouching, or kneeling may be required when monitoring maintenance work, but is unlikely to be a significant component of this job.
• Twisting of the body or neck is unlikely to be a significant component of this job.
• Contact with skin irritants or water is unlikely.
• Lifting, pulling or carrying is unlikely to exceed medium physical demand levels.
• Repetitive movements relates to the use of the hands when operating a computer, hand tools and plant equipment.
• Driving of vehicles may be required occasionally.
• Mental skills necessary include technical, computing, problem-solving and organisational skills.

A New Zealand Register Level 5 or 6 qualification or at least three years relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 2). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.

There are opportunities for flexibility of movement but they are limited.
