Collects data about clients and assesses their cognitive, behavioural and emotional disorders; administers and interprets diagnostic tests and formulates plans for treatment; develops, administers and evaluates individual and group treatment programs; consults with other professionals on details of cases and treatment plans.

• Works indoors in clinics, hospitals and public and private practices within office and consulting room environments.
• Works in adequately heated, lit, ventilated and clean, well maintained and private workspaces.

• Sedentary physical demand.
• Sits to meet with clients or at computers when preparing or writing reports.
• Occasionally stands, walks and moves around the workspace.
• Lifting, carrying or pulling is unlikely to be required.
• Occasional to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements are required when using a computer or writing notes.
• There is frequent use of hand-held objects and equipment including computers, writing tools and reference materials.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive and therapeutic skills, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, administration, assessment, behavioural information gathering, analysis and evaluation, report writing, organisational, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.
