Provides advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades.

• Works indoors in offices at desks and computer stations.
• Outdoors work is unlikely to be required.
• Works in adequately lit, heated, ventilated and clean, well maintained workspaces.

• Sedentary to light physical demand.
• Frequently sits at computer workstations.
• Stands and walks around the office and the wider workspace to consult others.
• There is an occasional requirement for lifting, carrying or pulling, most likely within a sedentary range.
• Bending, squatting, crouching stretching, twisting and climbing are not a significant requirement.
• Constant to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements are likely when using a computer and other general office equipment such as phones and calculators.
• Driving may be required but is not typically a significant component of the job.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with analytical, computing, report writing, communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making capabilities and a working knowledge of network administration, software installation, repair tools and design.

A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.
