This occupation group covers complementary health therapists not elsewhere classified. Occupations in this group include dance therapist, drama therapist, hypnotherapist music therapist and play therapist.

• Assesses patients to determine the nature of the disorder, illness, problem or need by questioning, examining and observing; develops and implements treatment plans using applications such as dance, drama, hypnotic and music therapies; evaluates and documents patients' progress through treatment plans.

• Works indoors in specialist clinics, community centres and private practices.
• Works in adequately lit, heated, ventilated and clean and well maintained workspaces.

• Sedentary to light physical demand, sits during consultations and when writing patient notes.
• Frequently stands and walks when administering therapy, examining patients, checking case notes and to gather equipment.
• Lifting, stretching and reaching may be required for some procedures (particularly dance or drama therapists) or when undertaking physical examination.
• Repetitive hand and finger movements may be required when performing certain therapies.
• Contact with water and/or skin irritants is rare.
• Driving may be required but is not typically a significant component of the job.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with medical, nervous, musculoskeletal knowledge, diagnostic, communication, interpersonal, organisational, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

• A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.

• There are opportunities for flexibility of movement.
