Interviews applicants to determine their job requirements and suitability for particular jobs, and assists employers to find suitable staff.

Arranges for advertising of job vacancies, interviewing and testing of applicants, and selection of staff; receives and records job vacancy information from employers such as details about job description, wages and conditions of employment; provides information on current job vacancies in the organisation to employers and job seekers; undertakes negotiations on terms and conditions of employment.

• Works indoors in offices, meeting rooms and within the premises of medium to large organisations in the public and private sector.
• Generally works in adequately heated, lit, ventilated and clean, well maintained offices.

• Sedentary physical demand, frequent sitting in offices or at meetings.
• Occasionally stands to make presentations or move about the office to consult colleagues, attend meetings etc.
• Frequently walks and moves from office to office.
• Lifting, carrying or pulling is not a significant component of the job.
• Bending, squatting or crouching is not a significant component of the job.
• Stretching and twisting is not a significant component of the job.
• Occasional to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements are required when using a computer or writing.
• Driving is not a significant component of the job.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with communication, interpersonal, administration, interviewing, assessment, information gathering, evaluation, negotiation, planning, report writing, organisational, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be necessary.
