Prepares and presents recorded music shows for audiences.

• Researches and prepares for shows; prepare scripts; operates studio equipment; introduces music, monitors playing of the music and ensures continuity; meets with clients to discuss requirements; may host outside events such as community events and competitions.

• Works indoors in music or radio studios or night clubs. May work outdoors at open air events like music concerts.
• Works in adequately heated and ventilated work spaces when indoors. May be required to work in all weathers at outdoor events but generally operates in a sheltered environment.

• Sedentary to light physical demand levels.
• Likely to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time when performing.
• Stretching up and reaching across is not a significant requirement of the job.
• Bending is not a significant requirement of the job.
• Squatting, crouching and kneeling is not a significant requirement of the job.
• Twisting of the body or neck is not a significant requirement of the job.
• Contact with skin irritants or water is not a significant requirement of the job.
• Lifting, carrying and holding is not a significant component of the job but can occur occasionally if the DJ provides their own equipment and does not have support crew.
• Frequent repetitive hand and finger movements are required to operate electronic equipment.
• Driving may be necessary but is not a significant feature of the job.
• Use of hand-held objects and equipment will be frequent and may includemicrophones and other electronic equipment.
• Mental skills necessary include creative, communication, research, planning and decision-making.

• Typically five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

• There are opportunities for flexibility of movement but they are limited.
• Night work is common.
