Prepares for performances through rehearsals under the instruction and guidance of directors; performs stunts for audience’s entertainment; creates and performs individual performance routines; rehearses, auditions and travels between venues.

• Works generally outdoors at entertainment venues.
• Will not usually work in adverse weather if outdoors. However, employees may work in artificially created environments when working for television or films.
• Employees usually work in adequately heated and ventilated work spaces when indoors.

• Up to very heavy physical demand levels, however demand levels will vary with the nature of the role.
• Performers may stand, sit or walk when carrying out shows or performances.
• Stretching up and reaching across will occur. The frequency will depend upon the act being performed.
• Bending and all other movements including squatting, crouching and kneeling across may occur; the frequency will depend upon the act being preformed.
• Twisting of the body or neck will occur; the frequency will depend upon the act being preformed.
• Contact with skin irritants or water is possible, the frequency will depend upon the act being performed.
• Lifting, carrying and holding is likely and the requirements are governed by the physical actions required of the character or the performance.
• Repetitive movements may occur; the frequency will depend upon the act being performed.
• Driving is likely to be unnecessary unless travelling to performance venues or unless it is part of the role.
• Use of hand-held tools and equipment will be frequent and will depend on the nature of the act.
• Mental skills necessary include creative, memory, communication and performance/ expressive skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.

There are opportunities for flexibility of movement but they are limited.
