Organises and controls the operations of a caravan park and camping ground to provide accommodation and leisure services.

• Takes reservations, registers guests, assigns accommodation and collects payments; arranges cleaning and maintenance of caravans, cabins, amenities blocks, recreation facilities and grounds; informs guests of local tourist attractions and recreational facilities; attends to complaints lodged by customers; liaises with local government to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and ordinances; may operate an on-site shop, cafe or restaurant for guests; may sign, supervise and enforce terms of tenancy agreements in accordance with legislation and may obtain enforcement orders where tenants are in breach of requirements; may act as licensee for the purchase and sale of liquor.

• Works indoors in offices within the hospitality environment which may vary in size and complexity depending on the size and class level of the establishment.
• Works outdoors frequently due to the nature of the establishment.
• Indoor work areas are adequately heated, ventilated and clean.

• Light to medium physical demand work with frequent sitting in offices.
• Stands and walks frequently around the facility.
• Lifting, carrying or pulling in the sedentary to medium range is likely in some roles when providing breakfast or assisting guests with their luggage.
• Bending, squatting or crouching and stretching, twisting, climbing is likely to be required when there is a ﾑhands-onﾒ component to the work.
• Occasional to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements are required when using hand-held objects/equipment including pens, calculators, telephones, keyboard and mouse.
• Driving is not a significant component of the job.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with communication, interpersonal, administration, organisational, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

• A relevant NZQF Diploma or at least three years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 2). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.
• Registration or licensing may be required. If the establishment sells alcohol, the manager must be at least 20 years old and hold a General Manager's Certificate and a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
