Provides high level management to support the running of a geographical or operational section of a fire service.

• A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.

• Frequently works indoors in offices and meeting rooms.
• Works outdoors occasionally when monitoring staff and operations.
• Generally works in adequately heated, ventilated and clean, well maintained workspaces. Outside situations may be dirty, noisy and dusty.

• This is a light to medium work demand role although there may be standing on parade grounds and occasional active participation in intensive physical training.
• Employees stand and walk occasionally around facilities.
• Sitting is likely to be required occasionally to frequently.
• Lifting, carrying or pulling may be required to a heavy degree depending on the requirement participate in training exercises.
• Bending, squatting or crouching if participation in training exercises is required.
• There is occasional to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements required when using hand-held objects/equipment including pens, telephones and calculators and using a keyboard and mouse.
• Driving may be required occasionally.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with communication, interpersonal, organisational, and financial, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making.
