Manages the process of production of goods or the delivery of services.

Liaises with immediate subordinates and departmental heads on matters such as methods of operation, equipment, budgeting and human resources; manages operations processes, design, planning, control and performance improvement. Oversees design and implementation of operational strategy.

• Works indoors in offices and meeting rooms.
• Occasionally works outdoors (although this could be frequent for specific roles if operations take place outside).

• This is sedentary work requiring frequent to constant sitting in offices or in meetings.
• Stands and walks occasionally from office to office and when observing operations of the organisation.
• Lifting, carrying or pulling is not a significant requirement of the role.
• Bending, squatting or crouching is not a significant requirement.
• There are occasional to frequent repetitive hand and finger movements required when using pens, calculators, keyboard and mouse.
• There is occasional to frequent use of office equipment such as phones and computers.
• Driving is not typically a significant component of the job.
• Mental skills necessary include a high level of cognitive functioning with communication, listening, organisational, planning, analytical and decision-making capabilities.

A relevant tertiary qualification or at least five years applicable experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). In some instances particular experience and/or on-the-job training may be required.
